£6,500,000 SCHEME
FOR ELECTRIFICATION OF RAILWAYS. About 4,000 men will bo directly employed and 21,000 more will find indirect work under a great South-eastern Railway electrification, scheme, which will cost 6i millions. This was described in detail by the chairman of the company, Air H. Cosmo Bonsor, at a recent meeting of shareholders. Application is to be made to the Ministry of Transport for powers to electrify the following lines:—North Kent and Greenwich, Bexley Heath, Hartford loop; Charing Crocs to Orpington, and Bromley North branch, Mkl-utm and nayes, Holborn to Bickloy and Orpington; Crystal Palace lines, and the Gat ford loop. A resolution approving the scheme was unanimously carried.
