"MERRY WIDOW’S" MURDER.
LONDON, August 20.
The ‘ Daily Mail’s ’ Vienna correspondent reports the diabolical murder of a woman known as the Merry Widow of Graz, It was followed by the arrest of five people, including a wealthy timber merenant named Steiner. The merry widow was separated from her husband, and traded privately in furs and jewellery. She was invited to tea at Steiner’s fiat. A cord was thrown round her neck, and she was strangled. The body was then cut up. Her mummified head, hands, feet, and trunk were found in different parcels. Tho murder was the result of a plan to enable the participants to divide her property in the flat. A previous attempt failed.—A. and N.Z. Cabfe.
