(Received August 21, at 8.55 a.m.) At a meeting of the Health Committee of the League of Nations, Sir George Buchanan (Russian Ambassador in 191018) announced that Britain would advance £IOO,OOO for the maintenance of quarantine and the control of the movements of refugees on the Russian frontier, conditionally on the other members of the League subscribing £200,000. The committee decided to recommend tbo despatch of a commission to the Far East to investigate the question of the frequency of epidemics, particularly those constituting an international danger.— Reuter,
