BREACH OF PRIVILEGE
THE SUBJECT DROPPED. [From Our Paruamektahy Reporter.] WELLINGTON, August 19. When- the House on Thursday evening adopted a motion declaring that the member for Lyttelton. (Mr M‘Combs) had been guilty of breach of privilege, the way was open for another motion Which would have prescribed the penalty. Members who had privately discussed the possibilities in this direction expected the Prime Minister to move that Mr M'Oombs bo suspended for the Remainder of the sitting, which, under tha circumstances, would have been for an hour at most. However, when- Mr Massey got up to move the expected motion he moved instead ‘"That this House do now adjourn.” Apparently he had had enough of the business, and as he did not move any penal motion next day ft may bo assumed that nothing further will be done in the matter.
