LORD NORTHCLIFFE’S FUNERAL
Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, August 17. The late Lord Northcliffo was accorded an impressive funeral service in Westminster Abbey. General Cotter represented ■the Prince of Wales. Sir Edward Grigg (formerly on the editorial staff of ‘ The Times ’) the Prime Minister, American and French Ambassadors, several members of the Diplomatic Corps, and Sir James Allen were also present. A great concourse assembled inside and outside the Abbey to pay their last tribute. The long route to the Marylcbono Cemetery was lined with people of all classes, who stood bareheaded while the coffin passed. It was followed by a seemingly endless stream of cars. A huge car laden with floral tributes from the highest to the humblest further demonstrated the wide esteem of the people for Lord Northdiffe.—A. andl N.Z. Cable.
