APPOINTMENTS TO THE HOSPITAL STAFF.

TO THE EDITOn. Sir, —I notice a letter in your columns protesting against the suggestion that has been made that the professors of the University should have a strong voice in the selection of any new professors. A similar suggestion has emanated from the hospital staff concerning appointments to the honorary staff of the hospital. Wo are, it would appear, confronted with a concerted move to create of ppblic institutions a closed corporation. Let the Hospital Board beware, for the general public expects it to guard against the tyranny of a body of experts. If our teachers in the hospital and University get their way we will see the principle, of government by experts carried to an extreme.—l am, etc., Pno Bono Publico. August 19.
