Now Zealand choicest salted, 204 s to 2065; Australian, 198 s to 200 s. Unsalted is very scarce at about a premium. Cheese is firm. New Zealand white, 925; colored, 86s. , Sugar: Granulated, 53s 9d. Bradford quotations are unchanged. Waihi shares: Buyers 27s 6d, sellers 30s. —A. and N.Z. Cable. LITIGATION OVER TOPS. SYDNEY, August 18. The wool tops case which was commenced in the High Court on May 23, in which the Central Wool Committee and the Colonial Combing, Spinning, and Weaving _ Company, Ltd., are contesting the validity of tho various contracts concerning the silo of wool tops by the company, the amount involved being about £1,000,000, is drawing to a close, voluminous evidence having been taken. Mr Campbell (counsel for defendant company) to-day continued his address, which has already lasted four days. HIDES MARKET. MELBOURNE, August 18. Competition in hides is very keen for lights, which are id to J,d dearer. Heavies with no substance and badly-conditioned parcels are irregular, and are neglected. MEAT BOARD PROFIT, SYDNEY, August 18. The returns of the Meat Board disclose a profit for the past year of £60,000. Loans to the amount of £6BO were applied for at this week’s meeting of the trustees of the Dunedin and Suburban Mutual Money Club.
