TUTANEKAI DISPUTE.
In reference to the Tutanekai dispute, the Minister of Marine (the Hon G J. Anderson) states that tho special payment of £1 a month extra formerly granted to seamen and boatmen was for special .duties cm shore and landing work. The provisions of the Public Expenditure Adjustment Act were mmliralile to those employees; the Adjustments Committee, liowever. decid& to continue these wages The department made no for lower warns than in the coastal award, and as tho whole ciev. roliued to sign on when the new articles were made, it was decided to engage a permanent crow, who receive superannuation.—Press Association.
