MID-WEEK RESULTS. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, August IS. (Received August 16, at 12,10 p.m.) Leicester (148 and 245) beat Sussex (317 and 154. Kent (170 and 208 for eight wickets, declared) beat Somerset (114 and 130). Freeman took seven wickets for 36 runs. Lancashire (83 and 106 for one wicket, Hallows 122 not out) beat Derbyshire (125 and 153), Surrey (355, Hobbs 112, and 23 for one wicket) beat Middlesex (173 and 201)._ Yorkshire in its second innings against Hampshire made 115, and Hants won by five wickets. The victory was chiclly due to the fine bowling of Kennedy and Boyce, whose averages were eleven for 73 and nine for 78 respectively. Waddington (Yorkshire) took eight for 35 and' three for 34. COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP. LONDON. August IS. Desmto Yorkshire's defeat by Hampshire it still retains the lead in the championship with a percentage of 74,40, Notts being next with 72.17, and Surrey third with 70.
