TOSCHA SEIDEL

ANOTHER MUSICAL CAPTURE. Much controversy is certain to be aroused over the brilliant violinist, Toscha Seidel, when ho makes his appearance at Hia Majesty's Theatre to-morrow evening and again on Saturday and Monday. He has been described as “ being between Keisler and Heifetz." The great Professor Auer, in launching Toscha Seidel on the concert world, used to say that, while Heifetz was his “angel,” Seidel was “devil.” Seidel, we aro told, is aroused and intent, and is passionately concerned with everything he docs. He stands on the platform as one about to create “ sensations.” Intellcctualism, no doubt, enters into bis artistic composition, but much more does emotionalism. The first in a musician may move his hearers to admiration, but it takes the second to make them enthusiastic. At his-opening concert in Melbourne he had his hearers in a state of suppressed excitement, and as tho concert progressed this rose more and more, until it culminated in a great scene of musical fervor. Fallowing concerts only served to heighten the wonderful popularity achieved by this inspired young artist, and the season had to bo considerably extended. Local music-lovers are already looking forward to bearing one who has gained world-wide fame. Special concessions will be afforded students, and further information may bo obtained at the box office.. Tho plans for the three concerts are open at The Bristol.
