N.E. VALLEY PRESBYTERIANS
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the North-east Valley Presbyterian Church was held in the church oil Wednesday, last, when the minister (the Rev. R. E. Evans) presided over a good attendance of members. The treasurer (Mr 0. D. Flamank) moved the adoption of the financial statement for the year, which disclosed a very satisfactory state of affairs. Tho receipts in the general fund were about £l2O higher than last year, and, although the expenses were fairly heavy, the year finished with a credit balance of £65 4s 2d. Tho church property has been maintained in good repair during the year. The sum of £149 11s 4d was given to foreign missions.
It was unanimously agreed that the minister’s stipend should do increased by £SO per annum. Mr A. Steven, session clerk, read the session report, which expressed great appreciation of the faithful and devoted service which the minister has rendered to the church in the pulpit, in pastoral visitation, and in the general oversight of all tho church organisations. Several special services wore held during tho year, but the most, memorable and impressive one was tho' unveiling of tho memorial tablet to fallen soldiers, which was very largely attended. The report of the ceremony was minuted, and the names of all the men of the congregation, totalling 168, who fought in the Great War were recorded in the session’s minute book.
During the evening refreshments were handed round, and the Benediction brought an enjoyable and profitable evening to a close.
