MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. Tho firsfc meeting of the executive of the Otago Radio Association took place on Wednesday evening, when all the members wore present, and a large volume of business was transacted. The president, Mr R. 0. Jones, presided. The draft constitution, with some slight amendments, was approved’ and adopted. The annua] subscription, including entrance fee, was fixed at £1 10s for ordinary members, and 10s 6d for ladies and juniors from fourteen to eighteen years of ago. The sub-committee appointed with regard to obtaining suitable rooms reported that it had obtained an offer of rooms in the old Technical School buildings, Moray place, on advantageous terms, and recommended that it bo accepted.—The report was unanimously approved and adopted, A Technical Committee was appointed to go into the question of installing' and equipping the transmitting station for broad-casting purposes. There may be some little delay in completing tiffs, as the Government regulations dealing with the whole subject have not been finally decided upon, and until these are known definite arrangements cannot be made. When these are in train it is proposed to give a popular demonstration of broad-casting with some inland Otago town, which is looked forward to with much interest. To show the extraordinary interest taken in the subject generally, it was stated that in Christchurch a similar association had now a membership of over 800, and one in Timaru had 130 members. Subject to their acceptance, Professor Jack (of Otago University) and Messrs A. D. Bell (Shag Valley) and J. B. Shacklock (Dunedin) were elected patrons of the association.
