WASHINGTON, August 10. ■ The State Department _ announces that the United States has signed an agreement with Germany in Beilin to-day providing for a mixed Commission _to settle the American war claims against Gc-i----many. Tho United States will appoint a commissioner and an umpire, and Gerninny ■will appoint ft commissioiiGi. J. icsident Harding appointed Mr W. R. Day (judn-e of tho Supreme Court) as umpire. Thc°agrcemcnt will come into force without the approval of the Senate. The Commission will shortly bo convened at Washington. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
