Sodgely, representing the Rover Motor Company, travelled! to-day from Dunedin to Cliristchurch. Mr James Fletcher, of the Fletcher Construction Company, left for the north this morning on his way to take steamer foi Canada. Mrs Fletcher is to accompany him on a trip which will include the United States and the Old Country. It is to be mostly a pleasure tour, lasting six months. A largo number of friends entertained Mr Fletcher at the Grand Hotel last night, and Mr R. S. Wardrop voiced their wish that he and his wife would have a pleasant and prosperous journey. Mr Alexander R. Tait, of Oamaru, was this morning admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court. The death occurred at Dunedin a week ago of Mr Robert Henderson, an old identity, who came to New Zealand an a youth in 1862, and after farming experience m £he Moerald-Hampden district came to Dunedin thirty-live years ago. Two of Mr Henderson’s sons served m the Grea„ War, Captain A. G. D.C.M., making the supreme sacrifice. His widow, three sons, and four daughters are left to mourn their loss. The deceased was 1 sixtynine years old. Mr J. Walcott, of the Union Steam Ship Comiuanv’s head office staff, is at present on holiday leave in Dunedin. He will return to Wellington in about three weeks time.
