MILK.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I do not happen to know what are the facts concerning the Wellington city milk supply, but surely there is room, for it in Dunedin. In South Dunedin the Sue© is usually 5d a quart-. In North unedin it. is 6d - a quart The price is practically controlled by our largo daily factories, whose shareholders will not accept small dividends. The cost of delivery by horse arid oart exceeds half, the value ox the milk, yet nobody will' sell , milk any cheaper if we go for it to tho dairy or shop and pay ‘cash over the counter, where tho price should not bo over 3d a ’quart. Invercargill is .Hi© only place where milk ,ak ,SM
purity, true quality, and every _ other reason I would hail with delight a city- supply in bottles pnsh_ over _ the counter. , Let, those who desire delivery pay the higher cost incurred. —I am, etc., 1 ' Milk. July 51. .
