THE FRANK BENNETT RECITAL
The number of scats already booked for Mr 'Bennett’s recital in Burns Hall to-night indicates that he is to receive tho support of large numbers of the public. There are several items of outstanding interest on the programme. Moszlawski’s Etude in G flat, for instance, is a work that has never before been presented to a Dunedin audience. The melody is beautiful and haunting, and is worked up through n brilliant cadenza in thirds for the right hand and sixths for the left hand to an unforgettable climax. Levitzki’s waltz in A major is a fascinating little nolo, which requires great delicacy of treatment. A group of Chopin works, ail well known, will enable the audience to compare Mr Bennett’s playing and interpretation with that of other performers. Mr W. (i. Gemraell, who is so well known to Dunedin audiences, will render vocal solos. His accompaniments will To played by Mr C. A. Altogether those who attend -are assured of a musical treat which they will long remember, It is interesting to note that the three performers are all members of the Returned Soldiers’ Choir.
