TRAINING COLLEGES AT PLAY. -.-DUNEDIN DEFEATS' CHEISTCHURCH. Tho football match between the Dunedin and Christchurch Training Colleges was played at Taliuna Park yesterday afternoon. There was a lair crowd of spectators. The teams were:— Dunedin (blue).—Full back, Borthwick ; three-quarters—Saunders, Kibblewhite, and Webb; five-eighths, J ofcoato and Townsend; half-back, Sligo ; forwards—Cabot (wing), Thomas, Vnllaco, Delahuiity, MTvay, Grant, Calder, and Dickie. Christchurch (red). —Full back, Murray; three-quarters—Kirby, Black, and Keys; five-eighths, Dawber and Berry; half-back, Beaumont; forwards—Watson (wing), Shrimpton, Wilson, Montgomery, Okey, Diehl, Donnelly, and Galbraith. The game was a fast and open one. The home team had the host of the play in the first half, though they scored only ono try. Rain foil at the commencement of tho game, hut the weather cleared after a time. Very shortly after Dunedin’s kick-off Sligo sent out to Townsend, who passed to Kibblewhite, the last-named scoring at tho corner. Borthwick’s just missed. The spell finished without further score.

Sligo secured from a scrum, and after the ball had gone through the hands of Townsend, Jefcoate, and Jennings, Webb scored. Wallace’s kick was unsuccessful. Christchurch kicked over the Dunedin lino.
