A new crisis threatens the engineering trade. In the ballot on the employers’ amended terms, upon which the recent lock-out ended, 43,957 voted for acceptance and 70,901 against acceptance. The Canadian railway shopmen have telegraphed to Mr Mackenzie King (Prime Minister) staling that 97 per cent, of their number have voted in favor of a strike unless the wage reduction proposals are withdrawn. Action ‘ will bo stayed until the Prime Minister replies.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
