- —-y—The Otago. Provincial Council held its annual iheet-ing on Saturday last in the Y.M.C.A. Prov. C.R. Bro. A. V. Gain opened the meeting at 7.45, the following representatives being present Sobriety Tent, Bro. G. H, Anderson and Sister Benfell; Hope of .Green Island Tent, Bros. Rhodes, and D. M'Kechnie; Star of the South Tent, Sister S. Drysdale; Hope of Dunedin Tent, Bros. A. T. MTndoe and A. V. Gain. The election of officers for tho ensuing year resulted as follows:—• Prov. C.R., Bro. A. T. , M'lndoe; ,D.R., Bro. O. 11. Anderson; secretary and treasurer, Bro. A. V. Gain; of female members, Sister Benfell: superintendent of Juveniles, Bfo. D. M'Kcchnie. It was decided to bold the annual juvenile competitions again this year, and as enthusiasm is already being displayed among the juveniles, a successful -event is expected. Regarding the “Primrose” Shield competition, which closed at the end of last month, it is unfortunate that-, as the juvenile return forms have not yet been forwarded on by the district office, it has not- been possible so far to obtain the results. The delegates reported favorably concerning the progress of respective tents, and everything points to asuccessful year for tho order in Otago. The fortnightly meeting of tho Hope of Dunedin Tent was held in ■ Kroon's Hall on Monday, when C.R. Bro. A. V. Gain presided over a good attendance of members. After tho usual routine of business was dispensed with the quarterly balancesheet was read and adopted. The .tent is in a sound position finarf ially, and is still making good headway in securing new members for the order. Being quarter night, the election of officers took place, the following being duly installed by Bro. E, Farrant, District Chief Ruler;—O.R., Bro. A. H. Walkinshaw; D.R., Bro, C. MTvessar; secretary, Bro. A. V. Gain (reelected) : treasurer, Bro. A. T. MTndoe (re-elected); Guardian, Sister P. Crawford ; Levite, Bro. C. Pocklington; stewards. Bros. V. H. Brown (re-elected) and V. Bond; auditors, Bros. R. Farrant and E. A. Rosevear (both re-elected); superintendent of juveniles, Bro. A, H. Walkinshaw ; assistant superintendents, Bro. V. Bond (re-clectcd) and Sister Mrs Coulter and M. Coulter (re-elected). Two delegates wore also chosen to represent the tent on the Provincial Council, the members unanimously agreeing to return our present delegates, Bros. A. T. MTndoe and A. Y. Gain. Having installed tho officers, I),C.R. Bro. R. Farrant spoke briefly on Rcehabite work in general, and complimented the officers of the tent on having won tho recent initiation ceremony competition. After attending to the remaining portion of tho business, C.R. Bro. A. IT. Walkinshaw closed the tent, when a short time was spent in playing parlor games.
