The Union Company report the following movements of vessels engaged in the transpacific cargo service : The Hauraki is exjiecbed to dear Newcastle early in August for San Francisco. She will load at Pacific Coast ports during September for Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney. The Waiotapu, from Pacific Coast ports, sailed from San Francisco on My IS for Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney. She .is duo at Auckland about August 6. The Wa/itomata is loading at PacificCoast porta for Napier, New, Plymouth, Dunedin, Bluff, Melbourne, and Sydney. She is “expected to dear San. Francisco during the first week in August. The Wairuna, en route from Australian ports via Wellington,- sailed from Papeete on July 17 for San Francisco and Vancouver. She is due at San'Francisco about. August 2, and ■ will load at Pacific Coast ports during August for Auckland, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney.
ROMEO FROM NEW YORK. The Ellerman-Hall Lino steamer Romeo, Captain W. D. M'Donell, arrived at Dunedin this afternoon, from Now York via northern ports, and was berthed at the Victoria -wharf to discharge over 700 tons of general cargo. Tho vessel loft New York on May 30, and experienced fine weather until within three days’ steam of Auckland, when she encountered a fierce south-east gale 'with high seas. The Romeo was severely buffeted, and a considerable quantity of water was shipped, but no damage was done. The Romeo, which is running under the auspices of the A. and A. Line, is to sail to-morrow for Melbourne to complete discharge. The New Zealand Shipping Company Jigs received advice stating ' that the steamer Ruahine, en route from-Welling-ton to London, arrived at Newport News on. July 23, and sailed again tho same day.
