THE FAMINE IN THE UKRAINE
RELIEF MEASURES EXTENDED. Owing to tho conditions in the Ukraine, the American Relief Administration has decided to include adults as well as children in its feeding programme (states tho London ‘ Observer ’ of recent date). The child relief programme called for the distribution of a hot meal a day to 800,000 individuals, and now, owing to reports of tho office field, an additional 400,000 adults will he fed at ouco. It is pos increased. Sufficient corn having arrived in tho Volga Valiev to feed the 5,000,000 adults and 3,000,000 children there, cargoes of corn grits and rye have now been diverted from Odessa to South Ukraine to begin tho adult feeding at once.
