DUNEDIN WOOL SALE
LAST OP THE SEASOS. The last Dunedin wool auction for the season, mostly comprising “oddments” and “ stragglers’ wool,' opened this afternoon in the hoard room of the Agricultural Hall. There was a good bunch of buyers, most of tho principal dims being represented. Tiro offerings were catalogued and sold in the following order: Todd Bros. ... 112 bales Stronach, Morris, and Co. ... 92 bales National Mortgage 2oL bales N.%. loan and Mercantile ... S 3 bales Dalgety and Co 136 hales Wright, Stephenson, and Co. 336 hales Otago Tanners’ Co-operative 166 hales Donald Roid and Go 241 bales Total 1,432 bales Messrs Todd Bros, report that there was a good all-round demand for nil classes of wool. Compared with places at tho brio sale, the rates for coarser sorts had advanced by fully id per lb,_ and by leper lb on all other kinds. No good halfbred or merino was offered, and from the tendency of the market there was an indication" that if such had been ottered they would have shown an advance o. 2d per lb. Messrs Stronaoh, Morris, and 00. report a successful sale, with good compoti-
tiou. Merinos brought 17-id per lb, halfbred 14]d, .and line cross-bred 12 1 Considering that tho offerings were oddments, prices were good. Thu National Mortgage and Agency Company reports having disposed oi tho whole of its offerings under Keen ccn'puUtion, market prices being well maintained. For good average merino 16J.d was obtained ; tine cross-bred brought 12d; other cross-bred 9d. Half-bred was also up about 2d per lb, and pieces v.ero a thade firmer. There was an all-round a 1 vance.
