(Received May 3, at 11.15 a.m.) The newspaper ‘ Grocer ’ says: The New Zealand suggestion of a compulsory dairy produce poo! decs not commend itself to the trade in (he United Kingdom. Its advantages will bo much outweighed by its disadvantages, ns all healthy rivalry and competition would bo eliminated and progress retarded. Any pool of this kind will bo resented by the British distributing trade, and would result in a. sacrifice of goodwill regarding New Zealand produce. The public would consider sudh a pool a replica of tho American Beef Trust. Jt would bo practically a second edition of Government control.
