The National Mortgage and Agency Company of N.Z., Ltd., is in receipt of a cable from its London office under yesterday’s date as under:—The auctions opened here to-day with a largo attendance of buyers and keen competition. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., has received tho following cablegram from its London house under date 2nd inst.: —There was a full attendance at the opening of the sales to-day, competition by home and Continental buyers being active. The catalogues were representative. Good greasy merino, 10 per cent, higher ; other merino, 5 per cent. ; all cross-bred, 10 per jent.
