WEST HARBOR COUNCIL

MONTHLY MEETING. Tho monthly meeting of the West Harbor Borough Council wm hold last evening, when there were present the Mayor (Mr H. E. Moller). Crs Fraser, Bpbortson, Smith, Bobb, French, Haxridgo, and Mitchell. Motions of sympathy were passed with the relatives of tho Into Mrs E. Montgomery and of tho lato Res'. Andrew Gray. Tho county clerk. Wnihemo, wrote requesting the council' to support a resolution “That this council is of opinion that tho auditing of hospital boards' accounts should be done by the Government Audit Department.”—'Received. Tt was decided to subscribe to tho 1 Board and Council ’ periodical, Auckland, for twelve months. Accounts totalling £177 8s 9d were passed for payment, the credit balance on ,Mav 1 standing at £ll3 19s Id. The Town Clerk. Port Chalmers, wrote thanking tho council for its motion of sym. pa.thy in the death of the lato mayor, Mr J. M‘D. Stevenson. Or Fraser, chairman of the. Finance Committee, submitted a, report on the financial position of the council. —Tho Mayor thanked Cr Fraser for the lucid manner in which ho had explained the report, which disclosed the fact Unit tho_ council waS in a most satisfactory condition.
