Mr W. G. Blackic will succeed Mr Raymond ns inspector of schools in the Wellington education district. Mr George F. Vincent lias been appointed by life Trinity College of Music as t-ho examiner for tho college in New Zealand for practical work this year. Mr Vincent is a student of the Leipzig Conservatorium. A Timam Press Association telegram announces (he death of Mr John Lillie Gillies, manager of tho Westport Coal Company and deputy-chairman of tho High Schools’ Board, in his fifty-seventh year.
