Shanghai awl Canton despatches report that nine warships, being the last of the Peking Oovermneiit’s navy, surrendered to Dr Sun-Yiil-Scu after three bombing planes hud hit one .ship, killing twenty and injuring thirty sailors. The navy’s loyalty was suspected owing to the refusal of the commanders to pledge neutrality during Dr Sun-Yat-Scu’s northern expedition. Fearing bombardment of Canton, if was decided to demand the surrender of the warships. The- latter refused and cleared for action, whereupon, the planes were ordered to concentrate upon tho cruiser Hairin', which was quickly put out of action.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
