The Prince of Wales spout the day amidst the most glorious scenery in Japan, He visited Lake Biwa, the biggest lake in the country. It is dotted with islands set amidst the. mountains, forming a scene of drcam-liko enchantment. The Prince participated in fishing with bamboo nets. From tho hike lie proceeded to Gifu, and witnessed cormorant fishing by torchlight. Tho necks of tire birds were encircled by rings to prevent their swallowing their prey. The Prince returned to Kyoto, where he was engaged in a number of social functions.—A. and 1 N.Z. Cable.
