GAIN FOR YEAR, £8,246,

SPRINGBOK TOUR PROFIT, £7,170. Tho long-expected balance-sheet of tho Springboks’ tour of New Zealand was presented to tho animal meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Rugby Football Union last night. It shows (briefly) a net protit of £7,170. The gross gate receipts amounted to some £25,000, and net gate receipt* to £17,196. Other were some £IO,OOO, leaving a net profit as stated above. In addition, the sum_ of about £;;00 is expected from the New Sonl't Vales Union. The. union's liabilities are £8,208, and tho gain for tho year is £8,246. The assets include cash in tho banks, etc., £12,000, and district union mortgages, £5.775. Amongst the items of expenditure shown were : Steamer faros of the South African team, £4,294; hotel and travelling oxixinses of the South African team in New Zealand, J82.2C2: rail fares of visitors, £568; South Africans’ board ajid incidental expenses, £685; managerial selectors' expenses of N.Z.R.U., £389; wages and general expenses, £514; extra stands, £360. The “gates” and expenses (shown in parentheses) at four centres were; At Wellington, v. Wellington and third test, .£6,146°(£4,958) ; at Auckland, v. Auckland and second test, £6,415 (£2,395); at Dunedin, v. Otago and first test, £3,643 (£2 579); at Christchurch, v. Canterbury £1,222 (£833).
