THE CANBERRA STRIKE.

SYDNEY. April 28. (Received April 28, at 12.20 p.m.) A deputation asked George Fuller to intervene in the Canberra strike. (Sir George Puller promised to consult .Mr Hughes on the latter’s arrival in .Sydney shortly. A message from Qncanbeyan states that Mr. Foster compromised, and suggested that the men should return to work at the old rates of pay, but with new hours. The men refused this, offer. The position otherwise is unchanged.
