GLENDINING—MACLEAN.
A very quiet but extremely pretty wedding took place on Wednesday, March 15, when Miss Sheila Maclean, youngest daughter of the late Mr Lachlan Maclean and Mrs Maclean, Queen street, was married to Mr Herbert Glendining, youngest son of Mr Thomas Glendining, “ Melrose House,” Rosiyn, the Rev. G. H. Balfour officiating. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr Lachlan Maclean, looked very sweet and girlish, in an unusual and most becoming frock of lavender, tho silk lace overdress being mounted on silk of the same dhade, shoes and stockings to match, with which was worn a silver grey veil fastened to her hair with a wreath of silver leaves, and she carried a bouquet of pink carnations and maidenhair fern. She was attended by her sister, Miss Una Maclean, as bridesmaid, wearing a beautiful frock of salmon pink silk taffeta, with daintily arranged trimming of Venetian lace of the same shade, black picture hat, and her bouquet was composed of carnations of the same shade as her frock and feathery fern. Mr A. Brown accompanied Mr dendbing as best man. After tho ceremony Mr and Mrs Glendining left for tho south, returning in time to proceed north on Friday morning of this week for Auckland, where the remainder of tho honeymoon will be spent. The bride’s going-away dress was of henna colored cloth, with touches of beaver fur-, and she wore a small hat to match.
Amongst those who were present besides Mrs Ladhlhn Maclean and Miss Elspeth Maclean (Hawke’s Bay), were Mr T. Glondining and the Misses Ckndining (2), Mr and Mrs Keith Ramsay, Mr and Mrs J. Glondining, Mrs M‘Kefrow, Miss dapperton, etc.
