Like every new industry, its pioneers had more pessimists about their heels than optimists. The best thing to do with the pessimist when.he says a thing cannot be done is to go straight away and do it. And that’s just what Adolph Zukor did when he originated the first feature programme. He was harassed by the same individuals that harass every other new enterprising suggestion. But being a man of courageous principles and having a strong desire to see his ideals put into operation, he soon gave action to his thoughts.
