TRIAL OF JEANNES.
AN IMPORTANT WITNESS,

BRUSSELS, March 24. Marlam-o Werres, to whom Jeannes boasted that he was instrumental in securing the condemnation of 126 allied nationals, including Nurse Cavell and her colleagues, gave evidence at the Mens trial. Witness, who is a typical Provincial, said that Jeannes was quartered in her house at Liege previous to the armistice. She gave her evidence clearly .jmx intelligently, and was unmoved ay counsel’s severe and prolonged cross-examina-tion and prisoner’s bullying and shouting. She said that Jeannes made tho boast when slightly intoxicated. _ Two witnesses, an engineer and a barrister, who wore court martialled • with Nurse Cavell and sentenced to fifteen years’ imprisonment, deposed that Jeannes was present when they were arrested,—A. and N.Z. Cable.
