A Sheffield inventor is reported to have sold for £5,000 to a well-known Birmingham concern a mass output machine which produces at 7d per pair scissors which today cost Sheffield makers 3s 6d. It is claimed 1 that the machine, operated by one man and a boy, does the work of ten men employed, hand processes.
