YOUNG BIRD SHOW

Thu tenth annual Young Bird Show, organised by the Dunedin Specialists’ Young Bird l Club, opened in Fullers’ Hall tills morning. The entries wore 150 ahead of last year, and tho biggest section of the show was White Leghorns, in which there were sixty pullets and forty cockerels. Tho sections as a whole were well up to standard in quality, and entries came from all over the South Island. Tho club is well satisfied > with the results of the show', which ia considered the largest yet held! in Dunedin. Tho management is in the capable hands of Mr W. Esquilant (president), Mr W. Sterner (secretary), and Mr T. A. Brown (superintendent). Messrs W. M’Donald and. R. W. Coombes judged the utility White Leghorns and Messrs P. Caro!in and T. 11. Dalton the open classes and utility other than White Leghorns. The judging of tho bantams was done by Mr W. Omand, and Messrs P. Patterson' and T. M'Lean judged the pigeons. The canaries were judged by Mr A. Cursey and the cats by Mr J. Radford, while Mr H. Brownlie decided the children’s pets and novelty class. An art union for prizes totalling £SO is being run in connection with tho show. The tickets allow admission to the hall. POULTRY SECTION.
