UNEMPLOYMENT WORKS.
TO THE EDITOR. _ Sir, —The Returned Soldiers’ Association are asking for the commencement of public works to relievo unemployment. The element of vagueness in this request will enable the Government to give the usual vague reply. Why not ask for something concrete? .A. suitable commencement can be made with substantial advantage to railway profits if the department wiil put in hand the deviation and duplication of tho line to Mosgiol town station. It will repay the cost in'three years, and, being additions to open lines, no excuse or delay can be urged.—l am, etc., Quick March. March 23.
