ANOTHER RECORD TO MISS HOEFT.

In tho InvitaMnn Race at the Napier swimming carnival last night Miss Paulino Hoeft (Auckland) essayed to lower Miss Fanny Durack’s world’s record (76ssec) for ladies over 100 metres, Alisa Hoeft was successful in her attempt, reducing the time by 2sec. Y.AI.C.A. CARNIVAL. Good entries have been recei /ed fm tie Y.AI.C.A. boys’ department carnival, to bo hold to-night in the TALC.A. tepid baths. In addition to Ihe 100 yards breast-stroke, 220 yards > hanrmnidrp, 80 yards championship, diving championship (under 18), and the 40 yards championship (under 15), there are several handicap races, a relay, novelty events, ribbon dive, and senior races.
