GAELIC SOCIETY
The monthly meeting of the ’ Gaelic Society was held last evening in tho Oddfellows’ Hall, Stuart street. Thera was a good attendance of Highlanders. Chieftains Colin M'Kenzie, Roderick M'Kenzie, Kenneth Cameron, and William Duncan occupied seats on tho platform, Chieftain Colin M'Kenzie being the principal spokesman. Bard M'Fadyen opened the musical programme with a Gaelic song entitled ‘Fear dhu ’; Airs Mackay sang a Gaelic song, ‘ Chuir iad an t suil a Pilot,’ and another; Mr Kennedy, a Gaelic song, ‘ 0 Sheann a duan so ’; Miss Kennedy, a Gaelic song, ‘ Gait an caidil anribhinn ’; Mr Forrest, a Gaelic song, ‘ Leis an Lnrjainn ’ and ‘ Gur Gile mq Leannan.’ Mr Dan Mathcson and Chief tain Kenneth Cameron also sang a Gaelic song. Miss Kennedy sang ‘ Bonnie Prince Charlie,’ ‘ Alton Water,’ and ‘ When the Kyo Come Hamo ’; Mr Gunn, ‘ Young Tom O’Devon,’ and, to an encore, ‘You Will Get Heaps of Lickin’s.’ Miss Moore danced a fling and a seann tr-uibhais; Miss Mima Munro, a seann truibhais; and) Miss Georgina Munro, a fling and Miss M'Kenzie a fling. Mr George Munro supplied the national music, and Miss Kennedy was accompanist. Mr Alex. M'Kenzie was M.C.
