| Some of the soldier settlers on the Wanf ganui River are having a hard battle owing to the low prices for wool and mutton, but are sticking gamely to their sections. The Wanganui-Waitotara Patriotic Association recently received an application from a number of the settlers in the vicinity of “ Wade's Landing ” for a wool press. It was stated that the wool returns were so low that they could not afford to purchase one, and if one were provided by the association they could pack their wool to the landing and press it there.
