[Special xo the 'Star.'] CHUISTCHUROH, March 21. The Council of Christian Congregations last night passed the following resolution: —"That m all cases of senile decay, where neither the patient nor his friends have the means of providing special treatment, and where such symptoms are unaccompanied by either violence or suicidal tendency, statutory provision . should be made for compulsory detention in special waTda in old people's homes under tho control of some duly incorporated hospital and charitable aid board. That the executive of tbis council be requested to bring the resolution under the notice of all organisations interested' in the care of the poor."
