All Correct. —At a regimental reunion there was told a Scottish anecdote that seemed to be new to those present. Two Englishmen, calling late at night at a Scottish inn. were told that the house was full. The kirk beadle, who overheard their requests for accommodation, said: " I'll P u t them up somehow at the kirk." He departed with the travellers. At 2 a.m. theie was an animated clanging of the church, bell, and the boots of the hotel rushed to the church, thinking it must be on fire. Returning to the inn, he reported: " It's a' richt. Two largo whiskies and soda for Pew No. 2."
