THE PACIFIC PACT

SIR A. GEDDES'S DISCLAIMER. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YORK, March 19. Speaking at Los Angeles, Sir Auckland Geddes (British Ambassador) denied that he ever said the Four-Power Treaty had averted imminent war in tha Pacific. He made a statement that the conference had for its object as far as possible the removal of war from the world. This meant, naturally, the Pacific as well as other parte of the globe; but beyond that general statement he did not and could not go in his official capacity.—A. and N.2. Cable.
