LIGHT WINES AND BEER
ANTI-PROHIBITION MOVEMENT,
VANCOUVER, March 1. Thirty anti-Prohibition organisations have launched a combined drive to restore light wines and beer in the United •States, says an announcement by Mr Anderson, superintendent of the Anti-Saloon League. The idea is to make wine and beer tho main issue of American politics in the Congressional elections next November. Other indications that an offensive has been launched include the fact that the American Federation of Labor has issued a statement favoring the modification of the "dry" law. Home advocates of the bonus for exsoldiers suggest paying it by taxing wine and beer.
