TEE COMING ELECTION
Mr J. Edie, member for Bruce, which district has been fused with Clutha, has decided to contest that feat on behalf of the New Party, led by Mr Wilford, against Mr Malcolm (Ilefonn), the sitting member. The name of Mr S. Andrew, of Ka,ikoura. is mentioned as that of a probable candidate for tho Hurunui seat at tho General Election as a Government supporter. Out Christchurch correspondent advises that Mr R W. Hawke. a. well-known resident of Papanui, is a probable candidate for the Riceai'ton seat at tho' General Election in the B.ofoTm interest. Mr 11. E. Hart, of Carterton, has decided that he cannot .see his way to comply with the request that lie should stand for the Wairarapa electorate in the Opposition interest.
