WAKE UP-BY 'PHONE

Much amusement has fioen created in literary circles in Paris over the brilliant idea of a well-known man of letters in regard to his telephone. Ho is a bachelor, and lives alone. She consented. Every day at the prescrbed hour ho is rung up, and ten minutes later tho lady puts through another call to make sure that her client has not gone to sleep again. His punctuality now is so marked that his numerous friends are both surprised and delighted.
