The Caledonian champion went through without a defeat, 'and thoroughly deserved his success. Piddington put up a game fight, but his opponent always had a little the better of it, and finally won, 21-14. THE WELLINGTON CONTEST. The champion of champions singles was decided on the Wellington Club's green on Thursday. Tire winner proved to be Jas. Bracken'ridgc, jun., with T. .Mayer (champion on two previous occasions) runner-up. Brackenridge won by 19-16. The 'Dominion ' states that 'on the play in the game tho best man unquestionably won, though a more adventurous player than Mayer might hive altered the result.. COUNTRY TOURING TEAM. A bowling team consisting of four rinks from the Waikouniti and Palmerston Clubs has just concluded a very enjoyable tour of Central Otago. The party left n Sunday, March 12? motoring right throng.-, to Cromwell, and returned on Thursday evening. During the lour seven matches were played, all of which were won by the visiting team.
