Press Association—By Telegraph-Copyright. DELHI, Movember 21. (Received November 22, at 1.45 p.m.) The Bombay newspapers say that it is fully time that Gandhi was arrested. His tearful protestations are possibly sincere : but Gandhi is tho root of the trouble, and lie is now unable to control the more violent of bis followers. The Bengal Government declared that the extremist volunteer corps was unlawful. At Calcutta, as tho result of numerous raids by police in lorries, the extremist offices, _witli dlpuments, books, and flags, were seized. Many arrests ■were made. Tho Bengal Government has issued a communique stating that the limits permissible in agitation have been passed. Citizens have been intimidated, the police terrorised, and 1 loyalty tampered with. It is officially announced that, in view of the existing disorder, the gathering of school children which was arranged to bo hold in tho park on Tuesday has boon cancelled for fear of mob violence. The Prince’s visit to the Prince of Wales’s Museum has been abandoned, and the review and rally of Boy Scouts and Girl Guides for Tuesday has been altered. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
