COM MON WEALTH LOAN. MELBOURNE, October 14. Tlw Ifoiifwi of Representatives passed a Bill authorising tho Treasurer to raise a loan of £5.000X00 in London for general purposes. THE LABOR CONFERENCE, BRISBANE, October 14. Tho Labor Conference carried a motion pledging the members individually and collectively to refuse to participate in any wax outside the Commonwealth. It was also decided to oppose all forms of assisted immigration, ana to urge that no Government arrange for imnirgranle without tho approval of organised Labor. PROPOSED- WHEAT POOL. BANKS STAND ALOOF. SYDNEY, October 14.Tho Minister of Agriculture has announced that the banks refused to finance the wheat pool. This means that unless some other way out of the difficulty is found the proposed compukory pool will collapse.
