METHODIST CENTRAL MISSION

The quarterly meeting of officials was held mi Wednesday evening, when the Rr.v. Eaton presided over a largo attendance. The meeting learned with 'tgret of the death of the late Mrs M'Dowfil! (Sister KutlH. of Sydney, who was well known in the early days of (ho mission »s a devoted and able sister rf the mission. Iho reports of the various societies of the mission were considered satisfactory, especially in regard (o the Girls' Hearthfiro Club and the Saturday afternoon Camera Club. The circuit financial statement was pleasant reading, showing a credit balance of £7O on Hm quarter, of which £3O was voted to parsonage furnishings curl £25 to trustees, making total grants to trustees lor Hut quarter £67. Thu meeting expressed its pleasure at the generous response of the congregation to circuit revenue.

'IV principal business of the evening was ths' animal invitation to the minister, and (as already announced) the Rev. Clarence Eaton was heartily anti unanimously invited for the eighth year, and heartily accepted. Messrs I). C. Cameron, junior, and Thos. Sunders were, elected delegates to the annua! synod, with Messrs R. Moffatt and W. Aitkon as substitutes. Two additional delegates to the Methodist Council were required, and .Messrs T, Sanders and W. Aitken w< re elected, A donation was voted to the. mayor’s appeal for the unemployment fund, and it was decided to support this fund as much as possible. Homo Mission Sunday and services were arranged, and the Foreign Mission treasurer (Mrs Coulter) reported a. substantial increase on last year’s contributions.
