The quarterly meeting of All Nations Lodge was held in tho Druids’ Hall, Port Chalmers, on August 23, A.D, Bro. Steveneon presiding over a large attendance of members, Tho usual routine business was duly carried out, and after tho bard (Bro Craig) had reported on the sick brethren sick pay to the amount of £l2 10s was passed for payment. It was decided, after a keen discussion, to increase the incidental fund levy by 6d per quarter. It was also decided that in future no initiation fees be charged to new members. O.P. Bro. ,’Jacobson gave a brief resume on some of his recent visits to country lodges. The fortnightly meeting of the Pride of Mornington Lodge was held on July 28, A.D. Bro. Lawson presiding over a fair attendance. Tho bard's report showed that the members were enjoying good health. A lively discussion took place on the Grand Lodge’s proposals re increase in membership, and a motion was carried suggesting amendments -1 thereto. P.A. Bro. Robertson offered a silver medal for competition among the members, the trophy to be awarded to the. brother bringing in tho most new members iu tho ensuing year. _ He was accorded a veto of thanks for his generous donation. P.A. Bro. Jellsy was congratulated on his winning the P.A. and championship competition, and Bro. Clark on winning the D.P. competition. A candidate was presented for initiation, and was duly admitted to the order. The team for the Boss Stewart shield occupied the chairs, and put up a creditable performance. A. D.B. Bro. Metcalfe forwarded his resignation from that office, owing to removal from tho district. The lodge accepted tho same with regret, and on the chair being declared vacant P.A. Bro. Quara was elected to the office. Tho quarterly meeting of Linden Lodge was held on Tuesday, August 30, when there was an excellent attendance of members. The lodge was opened in due form by A.D. Bro. Edwards, and all officers were present except A.D. Bard Bro. Curtis. An official visit was received from D.P. Bro. Reeves, and the lodge gave him a hearty welcome. The usual business was transacted in a fairly efficient manner considering that our A.D. is the youngest member in the lodge eligible for the high position. Bro. Swan was granted a clearance to Royal Oak, and our secretary was received in on clearance from Pride of ■Mornington. Four candidates were initiated into the rights of Druidism, Bro. Btoror acting as A.D. 'The bard reported on sick members, and was thanked for same. The lodge holds a basket social next lodge night, and visiting brothers with wives or sweethearts will receive a hearty welcome, and it is hoped that mcmbera of Linden Lodge will roll up and mako it a highly successful gathering. The quarterly meeting of tho Lily of the Valley Lodge was held in tho hall, Albany street. A.D. Bro. Bedford was greeted by a good attendance. Official visits were receive from G.P. Bro. Jacobson and G.V.P. Bro. Walsh, accompanied by P.D.P. Bro. Churchill, B. of M., officers of the Linden Lodge, representatives from Bay and other ledges, the occasion being a pound night. A large amount of correspondence was dealt with. It was decided to impose a levy to assist management. Two candidates sought admission and were received into the order, the officers performing their duties with more than ordinary ability. D.P. Bro. Reeves, on behalf of the lodge, presented Bro. Thompson and Bro. Trimmell with handsome P.A. collars for services rendered, the recipients suitably responding. After the usual routine business had been

transacted an adjournment was granted and light refreshments were handed round. On resuming the loyal toasts were given and responded to by G.P. Bro. Jacobson, D.P.s Bros. Reeves and Ockwcll, in wellchosen remarks as to the good and welfare, of the order. The P.A. of tho Linden Lodge responded on behalf of his lodge, Bro. Nichols on behalf of West Harbor Lodge, P.D.P. Bro. WhiUy for the Bay. Harmony was contributed by Bros. Green, Trimraoll, M’Fnrlane, and Muiiro; card tricks by; Bro. Crawford. A most enjoyable evening was spent by all. A memorable event took place at the Royal Oak Lodge, it being _the fortieth anniversary of the opening of this branchof the order. It having been decided to entertain the charter members to a social evening, 120 brethren from city and suburban lodges attended to do honor to these pioneers. Among those present were G.P. Bro. Jacobson, G V.P. Bro. Walsh, G.Kcc. Bro. W. B. Steel, and members of the Board of Management, D.P. Ockwell. No. 2 district, and the chapter officers, P.D.G.s Bros. Bryant, Alexander, Harland, Dove, and many old members. Apologies were received from several. Tho following contributed to the harmony of the evening; Bros. Enstou, Swan, Macfarlane, Stanley, Collett (Chinese melody), Bro. Steel (recitation). Bro. Collett presided at the piano. P.D.P. Bro. Hudson, P.A. Bro. Harry Norman, and Bro. London were the especial guests of the evening, and occupied seats of honor. These brethren entertained their friends with reminiscences of the early struggles of the lodge. The usual toasts wove given and responded to with enthusiasm, replies being made by the G.P. and his officers, Bro. Ockwell (on behalf of No, 2 district), and R. A. Sec. Bro. Reid (for chapter), and the various presiding officers for their respective branches. Light refreshments were handed round by willing hands, and the evening closed shortly before .11 p.m. The chapter officers have decided to have tho trophies won at the recent solo competitions by Bros. Robertson, Clark, Jelly, and Harwood presented at the monthly meeting of the chapter to-night. Arrangements will he consulted for annual syllabus, The ritual revision committee, haring completed their work, are handing over the result of their labors to the Board of Management for further consideration.
